Born on March 9th 1935 in Kiev,USSR , he joined a group, which studied Jewish history, printed Zionist leaflets and distributed them among the Jews in Kiev, when he was only 13 years old. In 1956 he was arrested, and sentenced to 6 years imprisonment in the Gulag. He spent his sentence in several camps, the infamous Dubrovlag among them. Released, in 1960, after 4 years imprisonment, he continued with his Zionist activity. It was not till 1971 that his dream of aliyah came true. |
